The Car Engine

The car engine is one of the basic car parts, it’s considered as the heart of the car, and the basic provider of the engine, the engine is one of the complex parts in the car, it contains many different parts that function together in order to give the car more energy to move. This article contains all of the information you are looking for regarding the car engine components, so you are in the right place dear reader

Car Engine Components

The internal combustion engine is the engine that is the most frequently used in the car nowadays, despite that there are a lot of different types and forms of this engine, but all of them team up in the main and the basic parts, that we are going mention.

Cylinder

It is the part that has many different parts such as, piston and valves, which the process of combustion happens in it, it is called “the area which is inside the cylinder in the combustion chamber.

Piston

Piston is the responsible part in the car for providing the energy and it transforms it from the chemical energy to the mechanical energy through exploding the fuel in the combustion chamber, which drives piston engine with the crankshaft, there are piston rings around the piston that has a big importance in controlling closing the combustion chamber to Air-fuel mixture from getting out of the chamber, to prevent the oil from entering the combustion chamber.

Valves

There are two types of valves, and they are: the access valves and they are the one that allows to the air-fuel mixture to enter to the combustion chamber during the cloud stroke, and exit valves are the ones that let exhaust out of the cylinder, the number of valves in the cylinder differ there are a lot of cars have more than one valve for entering and getting out in each cylinder, the access valve is almost bigger

Connecting Arm

Connecting arm is the responsible part for connecting the piston to the crankshaft, and to transfer the motion from the piston to crankshaft in the energy run and vice versa

Crankshaft

The crankshaft is responsible for the motion of the piston from reciprocating piston motion to rotational motion; connect it to the other parts of the car,

Oil pan

The bottom section of the crankcase of an internal combustion engine, serving as the reservoir for its lubricating oil

Camshaft

The camshaft is a shaft that is responsible for opening and closing synchronously with the strokes, the camshaft gets its motion from the crankshaft, despite that it’s very wide-spread but the car function automatically when it comes to opening and closing the valves without using camshafts.
